Pathways to Independence is governed by
a volunteer Board of Directors who share their experience, skills
and knowledge of Human Services to provide long term strategic
guidance and advice.

Donald first joined the Board in September 2000 and currently
holds the position of President. He came to Pathways Board
from a 22 year career at Loyalist College as a Program
Coordinator and Teacher. Prior to his position at Loyalist
he was a manager of computer information systems at Mead
Johnson Canada. Don is married to his wife Clara and has
2 children and 4 grandchildren. He has served with Belleville
Kiwanis Club, Quinte Amateur Radio Club, Loyalist College
Pioneers Association, and the Canadian Red Cross (Quinte
Branch). In has spare time, Don enjoys music, photography,
and family research. |

Eric first joined the Board in September 1999 and currently
holds the position of 2nd Vice President. Employed for
25 years at Loyalist College, Eric was the coordinator
of the Developmental Service Worker program. Prior to his
career at Loyalist, Eric was an Anglican priest. Eric is
also involved in many community and provincial groups. |

Jack joined the Board in November 2004 and currently holds
the position of Vice President. Jack worked with IBM for
26 years, is a former Reeve of Sydney Township, and was
the first Mayor of Quinte West. He currently sits on the
Board of Directors for the Trenton Memorial Foundation
as Vice Chair and was formally the chair of the Trenton
Hospital Board. Jack is married to his wife Linda and has
two sons. |

Marion first joined the Board in September 1999 and
currently holds the position of Secretary. Marion was
formally employed at the Hospital for Sick Children in
Toronto as a Risk Manager in the Quality Management Department.
She has a Registered Nursing Diploma and a Bachelor of
Administrative studies from York University. A dedicated
volunteer, Marion has worked with children at the breakfast
club at a Public School in Toronto, a member of the Ontario
Task Force on Primary Prevention of Cancer and is a former
Board member for Surrey Place Centre in Toronto. |

Dr. Walsh joined the Board in November 2000. He currently
is an Occupational Health & Safety rehabilitation
physician with his own consulting firm. He was both the
primary physician with Special Care Unit and the general
physician at Prince Edward Heights. |

Bill joined the Board in September 2001. In 1993 Bill
retired from the Air Forces which he served in for over
39 years. Bill also enjoyed a political career while stationed
in various military posts, serving as Mayor and Deputy
Mayor. He married his favourite Australian, Catheryn Flannery,
in 1960. They have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. After
being transferred to Trenton in 1980 Bill has volunteered
with Quintra, Quinte Access, Quinte Adapted Aquatics, Quinte
Sailability, the City of Quinte West and the Kiwanis Club
of Kente. |

Sandy joined the Board in September 2001. Sandy has
her B.A. from Carlton University and an Early Childhood
Education diploma. Currently employed with Kraft Canada,
Sandy is an advocate for improved services for those
with Acquired Brain Injuries. Since her husband suffered
a brain aneurysm in 1997, Sandy's goal is to ensure that
all people with ABI are treated with the love and respect
they would have wanted prior to their injury. |

Evelyn joined the board in January 2005. A former Residential
Counsellor with Pathways to Independence, Evelyn lived
and worked on the East Coast and Labrador where she served
as the first woman to serve on the Labrador City Town
Council. Evelyn is an active member of the community
and is enjoying retirement to its fullest. |

Patricia recently joined the Board after several years
of volunteering on the Quality Assurance and the Leadership & Partnership
committees of the Board. She worked in provincial health
and social services of southeastern Ontario; did project
management and consulting with area non-profit agencies;
and is currently managing a local research project. Patricia
is an active community volunteer and advocate. |
