Pathways to Independence

Welcome

Pathways to Independence provides community based living support to people with impairments in cognitive functioning. We provide case management, residential options, day and vocational programs and services in communities throughout South East Ontario to adults with a developmental disability, or an acquired brain injury or those who may be dually diagnosed.

Fully-accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Pathways to Independence is a not-for-profit agency governed by a knowledgeable Board of Directors, staffed by professional and caring people and supported by dedicated volunteers since 1990. We are guided day-to-day by our vision — that all people enjoy a high quality of life as an accepted member of their chosen community. Pathways to Independence has earned a reputation as an agency promoting and advocating for the people we support as well as enabling people with challenges to realize their potential and gain self-empowerment.

A2010 Annual Report pathway serves as a way to the known and unknown of life. Pathways allow people to explore their dreams, choices, options, rights and responsibilities. This exploration process is reflected in our Quality Life Planning Process — a unique, person-centered life plan that informs and guides how each individual is supported.

Pathways to Independence invites you to explore the many choices we offer to the people we support, their families and the broader communities we serve.
